Details of Seminar Many high rise buildings are coming up in and around Mumbai. Due to scarcity of space in the island city, more tall structures are being planned. Planning and designing the high rise building is a complex and challenging task. Shear walls are invariably used in all highrise building for the required structural stuffiness and strength which can not be provided by beam column frames alone beyond certain height. The intention of this seminar is to discuss various aspects of shear walls in the high rise buildings. This includes planning, analysis, design, detailing and various code provisions.
